On the Edge: ReRooted Event
For a recent freelance project, I collaborated with On The Edge (OTE) charity to create promotional materials for their ‘ReRooted’ music event, aiming to reconnect people with nature through music. The first design used a pixelated tree to symbolise digital disconnection, with a vinyl record symbolising music as a pathway back to nature. The stacked type and grid layout echoed urban environments, contrasting with the natural imagery. The second design, inspired by terrain and water routes, showcased how nature’s patterns can inspire new directions, transitioning from static urban settings to fluid, natural forms. Ultimately, the client chose a simpler design inspired by the event’s set design elements, capturing OTE’s mission of using nature as creative inspiration.
